I came here for the first time after a friend highly recommended this place. I had heard that their lunch specials were affordable, delicious, and offered great value, so I was excited to finally try it. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was told that their signature drum chicken—the dish this restaurant is best known for—was unavailable. That was definitely disappointing since it was the main reason I wanted to visit. However, I decided to stay and try some of their other menu items instead. Even though I didn’t get to try the drum chicken, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my visit. The food was flavorful, freshly prepared, and served in generous portions. The side dishes were excellent, and I really appreciated that refills were available. One thing that stood out was the value of the lunch special. For just $20.99, it includes a drink and side dishes, which is already a great deal. As an added bonus, they even give you a Yakult when you pay the bill. Small touches like that make the experience feel even more special and show that they care about their customers. $40 for a soon tofu and la galbi combo is insanity. To make it worse, portions are tiny. Taste was good but not worth the price. Service was poor. The two waitresses working are not very good, just stand in the back talking. They told me to sit anywhere and then have the gall to ask me to move so they can combine tables for a larger party. I would have been fine with moving if I wasn’t in the middle of my meal. To add to that, no one refilled my water and they took forever to get me the check.

I recently checked out Kuku, a Korean restaurant in Long Island City, and it definitely hit the spot. I ordered the spicy chicken bibimbap, which came out as a very generous serving—the bowl was packed so full that I almost wasn’t able to finish the meal, but it was too good to leave behind. It comes served with a fantastic variety of side dishes that completely justify the price point. If you go, just don’t forget to thoroughly mix the rice with the sauce that comes with it to get the perfect bite. Overall, if you like a good kick of spice, this is absolutely the place to go!

My friends and I passed by this spot and went in on a whim, and good thing we did! It was empty when we arrived, so service was quick and attentive, with no rush to put in an order. We ordered a lot of their shareable plates (we especially loved the tteokboki, egg souffle, and crispy potstickers) and left feeling incredibly satisfied. Banchan/small dishes are complimentary too. We would love to come back again!

Just recently discovered this place and I LOVE it. The food is sooo good, very nicely portioned (you can have leftovers to go) and the service is very kind. Highly recommend, if you enjoy Korean food ☺️
